Paws 4 Fun, LLC does business as The Catty Corner.  All references in this document to “The Catty Corner”, “us”. “we” or “our” means Paws 4 Fun, LLC and these policies are for the benefit of Paws 4 Fun, LLC and its members, managers and employees.  These policies are subject to change without notice and they will remain available to our clients online.  A printed copy will be provided upon request.

Carrier: For the safety of everyone, all cats are required to enter and exit the facility in a safe carrier that must remain at The Catty Corner during the stay.

Vaccines: All cats that enter The Catty Corner must have written verification of Rabies and FVRCP vaccines.  The Catty Corner also recommends that you speak with your veterinarian regarding the Feline Leukemia (FeLV) vaccine, although this vaccine is not required for a boarding stay.  Vaccines should be administered at least five (5) days prior to the beginning of the cat’s stay.

It is your responsibility to bring your cat’s vaccination records from a licensed veterinarian at enrollment and prior to any boarding stays.  Your cat will not be admitted to The Catty Corner without written proof of current vaccines, so we recommend that you verify that we have proper vaccine documentation on file at least 48 hours prior to the beginning of your cat’s stay. Vaccines must be administered by a licensed veterinarian since The Catty Corner can not confirm the proper dosage, storage, and administration of any vaccines.  For privacy reasons, most veterinarians will not provide vaccines directly to The Catty Corner unless the client is making the request.  Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that we receive current vaccine records for your cat.

Medications:  The Catty Corner will administer medications that can be added to food for no additional charge.  There will be a $3 fee for each administration of any medications not added to food.  If your cat is taking any medications which you wish us to administer in your absence, state law mandates that you bring them in the original prescription bottle.  This also ensures that we can provide accurate information to a veterinarian in the event of an emergency. The Catty Corner does not give any medications via injection.

Food:  We recommend that you bring your cat’s own food when boarding, but this is not required  Continuing on their own food helps them avoid digestion issues that can result from switching food.  If you do bring your cat’s own food, please be sure to bring it in a resealable container such as ziplock bags or plastic containers with lids and clearly label the container(s) with your cat’s name.  It is helpful to our staff if the food is premeasured into small bags, but this is not required; however, we do request that any special feeding instructions be provided in writing.  We recommend bringing a little extra food just in case your travel plans change.

If you do not bring your cat’s own food, we provide a dry “house” food that your cat can eat at no extra charge.

Bedding: We provide a cozy kitty hideout with bedding for the cats that are boarding with us so it is not necessary to bring bedding. This bedding is washed after each cat’s stay.  However, you may bring bedding for your cat if you wish.  If you choose to bring your own cat’s bedding, you do so at your own risk and The Catty Corner will not replace lost or damaged bedding.   All cats receive maid service at least once per day.  If we notice that bedding is soiled, we will wash it in our washing machines.

Toys:  Feel free to bring two or three toys if you think it will make your cat more comfortable, but please note that The Catty Corner is not responsible for any damage that your cat or others cause to any toys you bring.

Litter:  The Catty Corner uses a premium litter.  However, if you would prefer that we use your own litter, you may bring that as well.

Bowls:  We have plenty of bowls, so it is not necessary to bring a bowl for your cat.

Breakable Items:  Please do not bring glass or any other breakable items.

The Catty Corner does our best to keep close track of everyone’s belongings, but mix ups and other accidents can occur.  If you do decide to bring belongings for your cat, make sure that they are not valuable and be aware that you are bringing them at your own risk.  The Catty Corner will not replace lost or damaged bedding toys or other belongings.

While we strive to maintain a safe environment for all cats at The Catty Corner, we cannot prevent accidents, injuries, illnesses or changes in behavior.  By bringing your cat to The Catty Corner, you accept these risks and you release The Catty Corner and its members, managers and employees from any and all liability arising from the occurrence of such events.

Please Note:  Cats are exposed to colds, coughs, stomach bugs and other contagious diseases when around other cats and The Catty Corner does not take any responsibility for costs or expenses you incur in connection with the treatment any such illness, or any other injury, including but not limited to veterinarian bills..

While it is rare, cats can become injured while at The Catty Corner.  Cats can sometimes receive puncture wounds or cuts, scratches, broken nails, sore paw pads, sprains or other injuries.  So, it is important to check over your cat after each stay.  While our staff checks over all cats at least daily, punctures and cuts can sometimes be missed and can sometimes happen without our staff’s awareness.  Even a small cut or puncture can become infected or cause more serious issues if not cleaned and properly cared for.  So it is your responsibility to closely check your cat for any injuries and to ensure that they receive the proper care from a licensed veterinarian.

The Catty Corner takes many measures to ensure that your cat has a pleasant and peaceful stay with us.  However, we are not responsible for any behavior issues or perceived behavioral issues that may result from your cat attending The Catty Corner.

If your cat has allergies of any type, it is your responsibility to ensure that the staff at The Catty Corner is aware of these allergies and of the protocols that you and your veterinarian have established to follow in the event of a reaction.  If your cat has any food allergies, you must bring your cat’s own food in the event we switch our house brand of food or due to pickup delays or otherwise.

All cats attending The Catty Corner must be in overall good health and cats that play in the Kitty Playroom must be fit to play in an active environment. (Note only cats from the same family are allowed to play together in the Kitty Playroom.)  It is your responsibility to let us know if your cat has any health issues.  We are able to care for many cats with special health needs, such as special feeding or mobility issues, although there may be an additional fee required.  So, if your cat needs special care, be sure to discuss this with one of our managers prior to your cat’s arrival so that we can determine if we will be able to provide the care your cat’s needs.

All cats six (6) months or older must be spayed or neutered prior to staying at The Catty Corner.  Cats must have been owned by their owners for at least ten (10) days and may not have had any communicable disease within the thirty (30) days prior to attending The Catty Corner unless cleared in writing by a veterinarian.  Please keep the safety of others in mind.  If your cat has had or been exposed to a communicable disease or is showing signs of any upper respiratory illness, do not bring them to The Catty Corner until cleared in writing by your veterinarian.  The Catty Corner may require a written release from your veterinarian prior to your cat’s stay.  The Catty Corner reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason whatsoever.

If any injury or medical problem develops while your cat is in the care of The Catty Corner, you authorize The Catty Corner to do whatever is deemed necessary for the safety, health and well-being of your cat and you agree to be responsible for any and all costs and expenses incurred as a result.  If our staff is concerned that your cat has become seriously injured or ill, we will contact you or your emergency contact, if possible. However, you acknowledge that a decision may need to be made quickly, and you authorize The Catty Corner to take your cat for emergency treatment if and when The Catty Corner, in its sole discretion, deems it necessary.  Veterinary care can be expensive and surgeries to correct emergency medical conditions are not always successful.  If you would prefer that The Catty Corner not seek emergency care for your cat, or if you would like a dollar limit on any emergency care, you must document that desire in writing with your signature for your cat’s file.  Otherwise, The Catty Corner will seek all available treatment possible in consultation with the veterinarian and you will be responsible for the payment or reimbursement of any and all costs and expenses.

It is your responsibility to ensure that we have an emergency contact number on file for someone that is close by and that is not traveling with you that we can contact in the event we are unable to reach you.

Payment is due in full at the time services are provided. Our prices are listed and explained on our website as well as in brochures that are placed in the lobby of each of our locations.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you understand our charges prior to bringing your cat for boarding or any other services. The Catty Corner does not allow clients to defer payment beyond the time you pick up your cat.  Boarding stays longer than one (1) week will require payment in advance or a valid credit card to be on file for purposes of charging payment in full at the end of each week. If someone else will be picking up your cat, you may leave a card on file, pay via phone or pay in advance.  If special arrangements must be made for your cat, for whatever reason, additional charges may be incurred.

The Catty Corner does not accept checks. Account balances not collected for whatever reason may be sent to a third party for collection.  For purposes of collecting outstanding balances, you give your consent to receive phone calls (automated or otherwise) made to any phone numbers provided.   Your further acknowledge that you are liable for any court costs, reasonable attorney’s fees or other fees associated with the collection of payment.

Hours of operation are 7 am to 6 pm everyday including holidays.  Therefore, cats that are not picked up by 6 pm will board with us until the next day and the owner will be responsible for the boarding fees.

The Catty Corner will accept walk-ins with proper documentation if we have an opening.  However, we do strongly recommend that you make a reservation in person, over the phone or online in order to ensure that we have availability.  When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation via email. If you do not have a reservation with an email confirmation, we may not be able to admit your cat if we do not have availability.

If you need to cancel a reservation, it is as simple as cancelling online or just giving us a phone call.

Photos, videos and webcam footage of the cats, staff or clients at The Catty Corner may be used on The Catty Corner website, social media, lobby displays or in other marketing material.  You consent to our use of your or your cat’s image, likeness and name in such marketing materials. All photos, video and webcam images are the sole property of The Catty Corner and may not be used by you in any manner without our prior written consent.

All cats that attend The Catty Corner are required to be free of fleas and ticks.  If a cat is found to have fleas and/or ticks, we will attempt to contact you regarding options.  If we can not contact you, we will give your cat a Capstar caplet.  Capstar is a common flea treatment recommended and sold over the counter by veterinarians.  If you prefer that your cat not receive a Capstar caplet in the event we discover fleas and are not able to contact you, you must notify us in writing and your cat can remain in our isolation area until you are able to pick him/her up.

The Catty Corner is not a cat rescue group nor do we find homes for homeless cats.  However, we do support and partner with many groups that serve this purpose and can give you their contact information if you need it.  No cat may be abandoned at The Catty Corner.

If your cat is lodging with us, you may extend your cat’s stay by calling the front desk and making payment in full if the stay is extended beyond one (1) week. Any cat that is left at The Catty Corner without extending the stay and appropriate payment, will be considered abandoned.  If your cat is deemed abandoned under local, state or federal laws or regulations, you understand that The Catty Corner will, by default, become the legal owner and guardian of the cat.

The Catty Corner will then, in its sole discretion, determine whether to find another home for the cat or to relinquish the cat to a local shelter of its choice.  You understand and agree that if you abandon your cat at The Catty Corner, you may be unable to retrieve possession of your cat and will have no recourse against The Catty Corner whatsoever.  You release The Catty Corner from all further liability and responsibility for your cat.

It is important for you to leave an emergency contact number other than someone that usually travels with you so that in the event you are unable to contact us, we have someone to contact about your cat’s stay.  If you abandon your cat, you will still be responsible for the full boarding stay and any expenses incurred, including but not limited to any applicable attorney’s fees, court costs or third-party collection expenses.
